For this installment of “Faces of the Foundation”, we’re sharing a note of thanks from one of our scholarship recipient students. Cordelia Watkins is now a two-time recipient of a Grove City Chamber Foundation scholarship.
In my first year at the University of Tennessee, I have been able to make meaningful connections that will help me as I continue on my pathway in Biomedical Engineering! It is with generous support that I was able to be active in my campus and branch out into meaningful organizations such as the National Biomedical Engineering Society and the Society of Women Engineers, both being groups that I plan to work closely with as I continue in my education. Having this scholarship gives me the opportunity to branch out into the many exciting opportunities my college has to offer, and takes away the stress of balancing both the financial as well as the academic aspects of higher education. Your support means so much to me and my family, and it goes far to help alleviate the financial challenges that come with attending college. Your generosity will help me as I explore new research opportunities through the University and begin taking on more advanced courseware in the engineering department, and I’m incredibly grateful for this exciting opportunity!
